Important Guidelines for Our Valued Customers
To ensure the best experience with your purchase, please read and follow the guidelines below before installing or updating your theme or plugin.
1. Do Not Use Automatic Updates
Please do not update themes or plugins directly from the WordPress dashboard when an update notification appears.
Since these products are distributed under the GPL license, WordPress detects updates from the original developer, which are not compatible with our pre-activated versions.
Instead:
- Wait until the latest version is available on our website.
- Download the updated package from your account.
- Replace the existing theme or plugin manually.
This method preserves your website settings and minimizes compatibility issues.
2. Install Child Themes Correctly
If your download includes a child theme:
- Install the main (parent) theme first.
- Install the child theme.
- Activate the child theme instead of the parent theme.
This ensures your customizations remain safe during future updates.
3. Install Required Plugins Manually
Some premium themes include bundled plugins that cannot be installed automatically.
If prompted:
- Extract the downloaded ZIP package.
- Open the Plugins folder included with the theme.
- Install and activate each required plugin manually.
4. Activation Notices Can Be Ignored
All themes and plugins provided by WPShop are pre-activated by our technical team.
If you see license or activation notifications inside WordPress, you can safely ignore them. No additional license key is required.
5. If You Updated Automatically by Mistake
Automatic updates replace our customized GPL package with the original developer version, which may cause errors or deactivate premium features.
If this happens:
- Delete the updated theme or plugin.
- Download the latest version from WPShop.
- Reinstall it manually.
6. Resolve Plugin Conflicts
If you encounter errors or unexpected behavior, temporarily deactivate other plugins to identify potential conflicts before contacting support.
7. Install Bundled Plugins from the Theme Package
If the extracted theme package contains a Plugins folder, always install those plugins manually rather than relying on automatic installation prompts.
This helps ensure compatibility with the supplied theme version.
8. Reset WordPress for a Fresh Installation (Optional)
If installation problems occur due to previous configurations or incorrect setup, consider resetting your WordPress installation before trying again.
The WP Reset plugin provides a simple way to restore WordPress to a clean state.
